NAMESAKE
Avery Colvert was just 14 when wildfires ripped through parts of Los Angeles. Jumping into action, Avery set up Altadena Girls, a not profit that provided clothes, toiletries and other resources to teen girls who had been impacted by the fires.
With the loss of schools and homes, many teens were looking to also miss the chance of having their rite of passage school dance so Avery set to work coordinating the Altadena Girls Prom this year to ensure over 400 teens still had the chance to participate in their milestone celebration.
